DOH-Collier Hosts Second Annual Immokalee Big Bus Event

Immokalee, Fla. – The Department of Health in Collier County (DOH-Collier) will be hosting the 2nd annual Immokalee Big Bus Event at the DOH-Collier Immokalee campus (419 North First Street, Immokalee) on Saturday, October 3, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. This free health fair and public awareness campaign is geared towards providing opportunities for individuals and families to receive certain health services and information. Eight big buses will be on site to provide health services to those who visit. The agencies providing buses at the event will be:
- American Red Cross
- Community AIDS Network
- Community Blood Center
- Florida Vision Quest
- Goodwill Industries
- Harry Chapin Food Bank
- NAMI Mental Health Bus
- Ronald McDonald Care Mobile
Along with the big buses will be over forty other agencies providing free health services and information. Free adult flu vaccines, health screenings, dental screenings for children, vision tests, bike inspections and repair, child safety seat inspections, bike helmets, food, cell phone information, and family fun and exercise will be available.
This event will be held alongside Ciclovia Immokalee, featuring wellness events such as Zumba, obstacles, and numerous games for kids and families of all ages to enjoy! We encourage individuals and families to participate in both the Big Bus Event and Ciclovia Immokalee, and celebrate the day with safe, healthy and fun activities for all.
