June 29, 2016

Naples, Fla.- The Florida Department of Health in Collier County (DOH-Collier) will begin to provide family planning services to both men and women on July 1, 2016 at both the DOH-Collier Naples and Immokalee locations.

“We are pleased to announce that DOH-Collier will be offering family planning services on site and are doing all we can to ensure this is a smooth transition for clients,” said DOH-Collier Administrator Stephanie Vick. “Family planning is an important public health service that improves health outcomes for children and families.”

Planned Parenthood of Southwest Florida previously provided family planning services for Collier County through a contract with DOH-Collier. Services will be provided in the same location in Immokalee, however we are expanding to a 5 day per week clinic. The address for the Immokalee location is 419 North First Street. Services in Naples will be relocated to the DOH-Collier Naples campus at 3339 Tamiami Trial East.

The staff at DOH-Collier is looking forward to providing high quality and cost-effective family planning and related preventive health services for low-income women and men. Staff will be responsible for contraceptive services, pregnancy testing and counseling, basic infertility services, preconception health services and sexually transmitted disease services. The program helps to reduce health risks, prevent unplanned pregnancies and promote healthy behaviors.

“The clinic is already accepting appointments for services starting July 1, 2016. We have been working diligently to prepare for this transition and look forward to providing services to our patients,” said Adult Health Clinic Manager Elisabeth Karamehmet.
