The Florida Department of Health in Collier County provides a multitude of public health services directed towards improving the level and quality of health for all residents and visitors within our community.
Community Health Planning and Statistics services primarily consist of the continuous statistical data based assessment of health, demographics and socio-economic characteristics of the population served within the county.
Through data analyses of these characteristics; by age, gender, race and ethnicity as they relate to infectious diseases, chronic diseases and conditions, maternal and infant health, dental health, injuries, health behaviors, mental health and access to health care, Collier county and the local public health system is able to determine strategic strengths and challenges at the present time and focus on desired improvements in the health status of the population for the future.
These processes and methodologies ultimately contribute to improving the quality of life in the community and increasing life expectancy at birth.
