The Florida Department of Health in Collier County (DOH-Collier) conducts surveillance for outbreaks of communicable diseases and other reportable conditions in accordance with Rule 64D-3, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.) to protect the residents and visitors of our county. DOH-Collier has individual programs that investigate and report HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
The Epidemiology Program investigates all other diseases/conditions which are reportable to the Florida Department of Health. Reporting these diseases is required so that DOH-Collier can follow up on every case and help to prevent the disease from spreading.
